Melbourne tourist attractions and places to visit that don't suck

When you live in a city, you tend to avoid the popular tourist traps and attractions in favour of things that are off the beaten path like hidden bars or secret gardens. Things to do

Southbank

You’ve had lunch by the river, now try lunch on the river. GoBoat is an electric boat hire service currently running in Melbourne that makes it super easy to have picnics at sea (well, a river in this case). GoBoat’s five-metre-long boats seat up to eight people and don’t need a boating licence to operate. The best part? They come equipped with a built-in wooden picnic table in the middle of the boat.

Police tape in front of a burnt-out car that's half in, half out of a damaged shopt
Two suspected arson attacks that destroyed a Melbourne tobacco shop could be linked to ongoing violent conflict between crime groups, investigators say. The first blaze broke out at the shopfront on Pier Street in Altona just before 4am on Thursday. The offenders smashed the front window before throwing jerry cans into the business and setting it alight. Emergency crews were again called to the store just before 5am on Friday. When moving out, a meticulously clean house is vital for a seamless transition. Is It Better To Buy A House Or Rent In Australia?

The decision to buy or rent a house in Australia depends on various factors and individual circumstances. Buying a house offers the potential for long-term equity and stability, and you can benefit from potential property value appreciation. However, it also comes with substantial upfront costs, including a deposit, legal fees, and ongoing expenses like mortgage payments and maintenance. Renting provides flexibility, as you can easily move and avoid property-related financial responsibilities. It may be a better choice for those with uncertain financial situations or who prefer to invest their money elsewhere. The choice ultimately depends on your financial position, lifestyle, and long-term goals.
